Doing research online eliminates printing and mailing expenses altogether, along with the personnel labor costs of data entry people and interviewers. That leaves the cost of survey preparation, which is about the same as that for traditional research. Once covered on front end setup, online survey costs are not greatly affected by the addition of respondents. So the larger the study, the greater the savings over traditional methodologies.
